Secure, healthy housing has been proven to contribute to community participation, school attendance and higher educational achievement. It also leads to better health, justice and employment outcomes.
The Whanau Centre is committed to supporting whanau reaching their short term housing aspirations through its holistic housing initiatives.
Emergency and Transitional Accommodation
The Whanau Centre provides short term emergency and transitional housing that supports whanau through times of need and crisis. All whanau who enter the emergency and transitional housing initiative receive facilitated support to manage their needs as well as planning towards their long term housing goals. A wide range of support services are made available for whanau to access directly.
The Whanau Centre is a registered Social Housing provider within the Porirua region. We offer all Social housing tenants supported services that assist and empower them towards self-determination and resilience.
In order to qualify for Social Housing you will need to be assissted by Work and Income NZ and placed onto the Social Housing list.
