Give your child the best care

Porirua Whanau Centre offers a licensed Early Childhood Education (ECE) Centre that follows NZ Te Whariki, the Ministry of
Education’s Early Childhood curriculum, and endorses Ka Hikita, the Maori Education Strategy.

Our children learn problem solving, science, music, drama, art, pre-reading, language skills and social skills – all while having fun
and being well cared for by experienced, qualified ECE teachers who have a passion for early learning education (they are   teachers, not babysitters).

We provide a free pick up and drop off service and we are multi-cultural, speaking English, Maori and Samoan.

Our childcare facilities are open from 8:00am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday, all year round excluding statutory holidays and two weeks over the Christmas period.

We cater to children from six months to five years old.  The hourly rate is $4.60, but children aged three and four are eligible for 20 hours free care per week as a government subsidy.

The Porirua Whanau Centre has a Work and Income (WINZ) clinic on a Thursday (fortnightly). To book an appointment please contact reception 04 237 7749.
