Jessica Te Huia

Under 2's Head Teacher

Kia Ora Koutou my name is Jessica Te Huia. I have been in Early Childhood education for over 15 years. I hold a bachelor of education obtained from Victoria University and am currently studying towards my post graduate diploma in Early Childhood Leadership at Massey University. I was previously employed as Supervisor by the Griffin School now known as 'Kids Count' which, is attached to the Teen Parent unit in Linden. I am very happy and excited to be part of the Whanau Centre Early Childhood education service and sharing the knowledge I have learnt over the many years I have been in Early Childhood Education. I am a dedicated early childhood teacher with a passion for children's care, protection and education.

I am very passionate about working with and educating children of all ages, and their whanau, as well as advocating for the rights of children. I believe that the quality of education a child receives in early life is indispensable in bringing out their potential.

 Pae Aupaau

Over 2's Childcare Centre Supervisor

Talofa lava and Kia Ora! My name is Pae and I am very proud to lead our fantastic team of teachers who are dedicated to enriching children's learning and development, whilst also growing relationships with families, and whanau. I have been part of the Porirua Whanau Centre Childcare team for the last 7 years. I have a Degree in Early Childhood Education (ECE) and am also a fully registered teacher.

I believe children are a precious gift and feel privilidged to be able to work with them celebrating their individuality. I enjoy all aspects of my work and greatly enjoy being part of the team. I enjoy the team environment in early childhood where all the teachers bring talents and strengths to share together to enhance the children's learning.

My name is Setani

I have been a teacher at the Whanau Centre since 2001 with a short break in 2010 before returning as Head Teacher in May 2011. I love working with the children especially the under 2’s and I particularly enjoy building a strong relationship with whanau.

I believe in providing cultural awareness and engaging whanau in the child’s development. This has a strong influence on the child’s pathway to learning and provides a holistic approach to the child’s wellbeing.

I have a Practising Certificate from NZ Teachers Council a Diploma of Teaching (Early Childhood Education) Victoria University Wellington and a Diploma in Pacific Island Early Childhood Education Whitireia Community Polytechnic.

 Fuafetii Fa'atau

Hola, Talofa lava and greetings!

My name is Fuafetii Fa'atau, Tee for short. 

I have been with the Porirua Whanau Centre Childcare for two years. I am of samoan descent, and I have graduated from Whitireia Polytechnic with a Bachelor of Teaching Degree.

I believe our children are our taonga, and as their teacher I wish to try and fulfill, help, support and encourage our children to learn and gain knowledge from a holistic approach.

  Anu Isaako

 Hi my name is Anu Isaako, born and bred in Porirua and have been an Early childhood teacher for the last 13 years. I am one of seven children and  currently live with my partner while awaiting the arrival of our first child. I am of Tokelauan, Samoan, Tuvaluan and Rotuman decent and am fluent in  Samoan and Tokelauan also. I believe all children deserve the best education in their first vital years of their lives and we are the first to make that  difference alongside the families and community.

 Lano Isaako

 Kia ora, my name is Lano Isaako. I graduated from Te Rito Maioha Aotearoa in December 2015 with a bachelor of Teaching in Early Childhood. Prior  to taking this position at the Whanau Centre, I had been working at Nua nua Kindergarten since September 2012. I am passionate about providing  quality early childhood care and education for our community of learners and feel priviledged to be working alongside a fantastic team of committed    professionals. Outside of teaching I enjoy sports, music, collecting shoes, and spending time with my little whanau, especially my son Titan.
